Bhupen Hazarika Setu - Dhola-Sadiya Bridge
The Bhupen Hazarika Setu - Dhola-Sadiya Bridge, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in April 2018, is the longest bridge in India. It has become instrumental in connecting the far-flung areas of Assam.
The bridge was constructed under the National Highway Development Project (NHDP) scheme. It is named after singer and popular folk musician Bhupen Hazarika who wrote many popular songs like 'Jhumri Teli.'
This bridge has become an important part of development efforts for northeastern region of India which is geographically distant from mainland India.
The Bogibeel bridge
The Bogibeel bridge in Assam is an important bridge which has become the second longest bridge in India. The total length of the bridge is 965 meters and it also includes two different types of bridges, the cable-stayed suspension bridge and cable-stayed cable-tensioned suspension bridge.
Bogibeel bridge is the longest road-rail bridge in the world. It is also one of the most expensive bridges, costing more than Rs. 12,600 crore (1.2 billion).
Agnigarh Hill
Agnigarh Hill is a fort located in Assam. It was built by the Ahom king, Swargadeo Rudra Singha. In the fort, there is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. A beautiful view of the Brahmaputra River can be seen from this hill.
Agnigarh Hill, also known as Agni-Ghar, is situated in Assam. It is one of the most important locations in the state. The hill was the site of a series of battles between British and Indian troops during 1817-1818. The site has never been visited by any British general since then.
